good to be back

Yes it is good to be back. I would like to think I am adjusting well, it doesn't seem that different at all. I really don't want to be one of those people that it takes like 6 months and it just hits me. Please keep my transition in your prayers.

So far I have gotten to have Chipolte and Coldstone!! Yum, yum. I also went to Huntington beach and put my feet in the Pacific. That was something I had really missed. I got to see Katie and we went to church and the beach and dinner and hung some. She had to put up with me basically being asleep at 9 pm due to stupid jet lag. Hopefully that will pass soon. I will be in Bako this weekend and hope to see people. Starting the 6th call my cell, until then I have unlimited text messages.

A funny thing happened. I lost my drivers license while in Scotland. When I got back I got an email from my bank saying there was possible fraud on my debit card, so they canceled it. So to spend money (which we all know I love to do) I have to write a check and use my passport as ID. This would only happen to me!

I am here!!
After a 12 hour flight which was preceeded by a two hour bus journey and being close to three hours early to the airport I am back in the U S of A! Not sure how I am feeling, mostly knackered. I slept a lot of the plane but since I woke up ap 9 pm in the states and arrived the next day at 2 pm and it is now almost 9 pm (so 24 hours later) I am just plain knackered.

I am spending the first week back relaxing and getting over jet lag and watching some doggies in Southern California. After that I think it is going to be a marathon of seeing people and support raising for next year.

Ta for now and all the support you have all been through our blogs, love ya all.

I am leaving Edinburgh in about 30 minutes to go to a conference near London until Thursday. From there I am headed back to the States.

I can't believe it is over :( In the last 3 days we have had 3 parties at our flat. I am a bit tired. I won't have internet access until I am back. Catch up with you all then.

Looking at most of your life piled into suitcases it very odd. It makes me think several things, 1) I have too much. Do I really need all of this? I know I don't yet I am not willing to give it up.
2) I also have realized I don't think I am completely ready to leave this place. I am not sure what I need to do to be ready. I know God is calling me back, but I am not ready, I love it here. It is all about surrendering what I want to what He has planned for me.

It is so odd how I always want what I though I didn't. It's hard to explain, but just a while back I was longing for home and now that home is a week a way I'm not ready to go. I am one complicated woman, but that is how God made me, and He loves me as I am!! What a wonderful thought!

Ok, me sleepy. When I wake up it will be Thursday (well, technically it is) and I will be home in a week. There is some excitement about going home, don't get me wrong, I am ready to be warm again, and see people again. It will be weird being in America again, this place is so much different. America, here I come!!

Here is a picture from Project PETE. This group had gone to the Meadows and the Edinburgh Uni area. They are a mix of British and American students during the debrief of their time sharing.

Count Down

It isn't that I want to be counting the time down, but it is hard not to when you have less than two weeks left. I actually have less than two weeks left in Edinburgh and a little over two weeks total left in the UK. I fly out June 23rd.

I must say last week was amazing. Project PETE was really a success. Throughout the week somewhere close to 45 people came and shared their faith. A girl became a Christian!!! Yeah! I heard rumors of another person, but that is all I have heard. Last week gave such a great picture of the year. All of those people who attended were people we didn't know at the beginning of the year. We were able to get to know them and they were willing to come along and learn more about sharing their faith and then do it! It was one of the best weeks of the year for me! I finall recovered from the week when I got to sleep for over 10 hours on Saturday night. That was much needed sleep.

This week we are working hard. Tying up all the loose strings and handing things over for next year. After Friday I am done :( That makes me sad. Tomorrow is the whole cultural debrief. WE have been reflecting a lot this week on what God has done and what we have experienced.

I really am sad about leaving. Saying bye to people is hard. I don't know if I will see them again. But I know that I am suppose to be in Fresno next year. *deep sigh*

I look forward to seeing all of you again :) love you all
