Ghetto fabulous
Ok, so with me comes GHETTO-NESS? My car is a bit ghetto. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn’t. Last week I took a nice mile long walk in the 100 degree temp because of it. The dishwasher has to have a broom propped up against it to make it work. Now the sink! Come on, something else?? Oh wait, I forgot about the garbage disposal, but back to the sink. Our sink in the kitchen is leaking. It started that one of the pipes cracked. This of course was when there were about 15 people over for a dinner meeting. We had to run out and try to make it to get a new one by 10 pm. Home Depot closes at 9, so it was off to Lowes, we made it and got the new pipe. We are girls, do you think we could properly fix it? Thank you for believing in me, but NO. So we borrowed a friend to fix it in the morning.
This is where the dishwasher and the sink both come in. Cindy has actually been the amazing fix it woman and had thought that it was fixed as our borrowed man had left. So she ran the dishwasher, by propping a broom up against a chair that pressed on the dishwasher. She was on the phone and thought she heard water. She went in and there was water everywhere, including behind the fridge. SO our friendly borrowed repairman came back to fix it. He left saying it was fixed. Well, I went in to put things away and there is water on the floor. So now our sink still leaks, the dishwasher needs to be propped and the garbage disposal doesn’t work. But we don’t have mice, so that is good!
I must say Cindy is great at DIY (Do it Yourself) and she was the one who figured out how to make the dishwasher “work” Hmmm, maybe she can figure out my car, well she is at least available to pick me up if I need it.
Support Goals
Ok so I am setting a goal of $250 a week in monthly support. I would like to be at full support before my deadline, but this seems like an achievable goal.
Here is how that can be accomplished
2.5 donors @ $100 a month
5 donors @ $50 a month
10 donors @ $25 a month
12.5 donors @ 20 a month
25 donors @ 10 a month
it can and will be done! Fresno State started today, I want to get this done ASAP so I can be on campus. Please join me in praying for this.

well, I have moved to Fresno! I am borrowing an aerobed and have some plastic drawers and suitecases. Oh, and a stereo. I am still trying to figure out what I am going to bring from home. I don't want to have too cluttered of a room.
Still working on support. Basically $1100 to go a month. Keeping up the praying and calling people.
On the personal sideOn Friday I saw
Must Love Dogs. Cute movie. So, it got me to thinking....... If someone were to write a personal ad for me what would it say? If you were to write on for yourself what would it say? Just thought this could be fun, if people actually leave comments.
The day the keeps going and goingYesterday was a really long day. A really great day, but LONG. I woke up and went walking at 7 am. Then I had to get ready for a meeting with the Mission’s Committee at church. From there I packed up the back of a van of some of my things and headed to Kingsburg to go floating with friends.
We made it to K-burg at 1 pm. Everyone else didn’t get there until closer to 2. We then had to go and inflate some of the rafts. We were on the river around 3. I would have to say this was one of the best floats I have ever been on. It lasted four hours! We started higher up on the river and stopped a few times. One stop was for a rope swing. The guys loved this! I was too chicken to try it. After that we stopped at the normal “Beach” and spent close to an hour there. Then it was just a little longer to the end. By the time we reached the end it was 7ish.
After deflating rafts and changing and things we went to dinner in K-town. Pizza, yumm. After that I was still suppose to take some things to Fresno to start the moving in process. Luckily Katie volunteered to take them for me. We now had to head back to Bakersfield. A little over an hour later we were back in Bako.
You would think that was enough to do in a day, but no. First we wanted to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but the last show had already started. Hmmm, there has to be something to do in this town of ours. Bowling always sounds fun. Bowling it was.
Bowling sounds innocent enough, but not late on a Saturday night. This was some crazy cosmo bowling with a dance floor and DJ. Let me just say my kids are never going to dance that way at that age. We played a few games and then headed home around 1 am. I am still tired and it is the next day.
This time next week I will be in Fresno finding crazy things to do )
Sometimes there isn't much interesting going on.
Here is something....I was driving along yesterday with my niece and the car starts being really funny, so I turn off the radio and the air and it is still shaking and things. I decide to pull over thinking it is a flat tire. I had really thought it was coming from the drivers side, that tire was ok, I go around to the passenger side.....the tire is completely shredded. I was bad. I was so thankful that I was just driving along on a street going like 40 mph and not the freeway.
Do I know how to change a tire? ummm, no. We called my sister who works at a car dealer's body shop and she sent one of the guys out and he changed it. I had to drive around on a little donut tire for a while. I then looked into the warranty of the tires and they were still covered. So I spent a couple hours at Costco while they changed, rotated and balanced the tires. It was nice to the the balancing and rotation out of it. This warranty has "Lifetime" Warranty...which means while the car is in the ownership of the person who bought the tires. That person happened to be two owners ago, but I know who that is and he was kind enough to help me out and we got it all taken care of without much $ out of my pocket. Oh the joys of being a car owner. I got the pink slip on Saturday, so it was time for something like this to happen.
Other than that support is still slowly climbing. I am thinking of reducing my budget a little and then I can be at 54%. I am suppose to report in Fresno on August 15th. So gotta be praying and working hard. I have a support appointment tonight and still have a lot of people to follow-up with. I haven't reached the end of my rope yet, but time is getting short.
