A bit of an update for me. Where shall I start? I guess the biggest thing is that after a lot of prayer, though and discussion my placement has been changed to the PSW Regional Office. I think this is a much better fit for me. During my last year at Fresno State I really got a desire to use what I had been learning in school in ministry. By working in the Regional Office I will get to use my gift of administration more and help the larger scope that is the PSW Region. There are over 3 million students who need to hear the Gospel. One area where I might serve is with conferences and events. Exactly what I will be doing will be pinpointed after I report.
As far as reporting goes—my support goals took a jump with the change in location. It is expensive to live in So Cal. I also have learned that I need to have surgery on my knee. That is scheduled for June 6th.
At our church we have been challenged to pray BIG BOLD PRAYERS. My big bold prayer is to be done support raising my surgery, recover, go to CSU and then report. Please join me in this prayer!
That is just a few of the things going on with me.

So I have decided to embrace where I will soon be living and was thinking that it would be a good place to complete one of my major goals for 2007. In 2006 I wanted to complete a half marathon and I want to do a complete one in 2007. So I was on the net today and I came across this http://www.sacramentocowtownmarathon.com/

They call one of the marathons in Sacramento the cow town marathon. Really, you have to go to the website and see it. It seems like fun, and would give me until October to train for it. You think should go for it??!!
In other news, I came across the book, "How to Get a Date Worth Keeping," by Henry Cloud. I know he spoke at CSU a couple summers ago. I got roped into volunteering for a few hours at my church office, so I had some time to read (all I had to do was answer the phone when it rang). I got the book for free so there isn't a money back guarantee. Do I really want to start dating when I will be moving somewhere else? If I do start dating here I can get my game up to par so that when I am in Davis/ Sac I can find me the guy on my dreams. The book is kinda funny, but has some good points in it. I only read the first 8 chapters. It is a easy read.
I had a great time in Fresno for a support trip. I raised support and got to see friends I hadn't in a while. Now I am back in Bakersfield and need to keep the momentum going. This weekend there is a missions fair at my church. A great opportunity to see a lot of people that I wouldn't normally and let them know about my ministry, pray that it goes well.

I've been thinking a lot lately about what it means to be truly satisfied. I have been thinking about what I had thought would satisfy me, and have realized that it really has just left a big void. The only thing that can offer true satisfaction is Jesus Christ. Knowing Him. Loving Him. Glorifying Him. To quote John Piper, "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him".
I have been pretty unsatisfied lately. This is really my own doing. I am working on this—it is a long process.
Psalm 90: 14
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Isaiah 58:11
The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
If we take Jesus at his Word, and start trusting that He will give us all that we need...why do we need to pursue all the things that the world pursues?

The dessert went well. There were only three people there but they are now all monthly donors!! God had who He wanted there.
A somewhat funny story. I had send some pictures to Longs to be printed and I decided to stop off on my way to the appointment to pick them up. Sometimes my car doesn't want to start, but it was a cool evening so I didn't think it would be a problem. After I had gone in and got my pictures I came out and tried to start my car-- it wouldn't start!!
The first thing I wanted to do was freak out. Instead I decided to be calm and pray. I prayed, went in and got a bottle of water and tried my car again. It started up no problem. Just a little reminder that EVERYTHING needs to be covered in prayer.
When I got to the house and came to realize only the couple who were hosting and one other person were going to be there I also wanted to have a little freak out. Instead I knew God had plans for the evening. Everyone there had supported me in the past, but I had never had an opportunity to really share with them about my ministry. I used the evening to really share with them, and it was great! The host couple decided to start supporting me monthly as did the other woman! God is good!!! All the time!!
I went to Davis last weekend and had dinner with my staff team, went to their weekly meeting and then to fall retreat. It all was great. I need to write more about it soon. (gotta keep you guys on the edge of your seats =)

An Update on support- please join me in prayer
I am getting closer to 50%!!!
Right now I am at 46%! Last night I got a new monthly partner at $100 monthly and that means to get to 50% only $191.50 in monthly donations is needed.
I am really praying that I am able to raise support in the power of the Holy Spirit. This isn't something I am doing, it is something God is doing. That makes this so much easier, cause I know I can't do it on my own. It is something only He can do.
So far next week I have a dessert planned on Sunday evening where a lot of people were invited. Please pray that people come and are responsive to join me. I am also suppose to call a couple people back for appointments for next week. One tentatively scheduled for Tuesday evening.
Please also join me in praying that I God gets me to this goal of 50% and I can go to Davis next Thursday and see the campus and join them at their fall retreat. I really think this will help me see what ministry is like there and help keep me going through this time of support raising.
again, I thank you for your prayers. Keep them up!!

I walked a half marathon last weekend. Just something I had wanted to do in the year 2006 and I made it in under 4 hours. It was quite an experience as there was horrible traffic in Long Beach at 7 am on Sunday morning. We walked across the start line 15 minutes late. Luckily they have timing chips that start the clock when you go across the start line, across the 10K and at the finish. We actually ended up walking the 2nd half faster that the fist. It was A LOT of fun. There was a mile or two when I wasn't sure if my partner in crime was going to finish with me, but after mile 10 we really picked up the pace and thanks to a timely banana we rocked the finish line! I hope to have pics soon.
