Went to Lake Tahoe this weekend. It was a lot of fun. I decided not to ski but to just enjoy the time with other staff members from my region. It was a great weekend. As is often the case when you are out of town for a weekend I am pretty tired and looking at a crazy busy week ahead of me.

If you could keep the Bible studies we have with the students and Fresno State in your prayers. Getting them started is seeming to be a bit of a challenge this semester as just about all of our students have decided they don't want to lead this semester. I said I would be the point person who over sees them all-- so prayers would be great as I know God has great things planned for this semester.

Other news-- I have lost 25 pounds since mid August. I have consistently been going to a Kick Boxing class and doing a lot of walking. A Pilates class is being offered through the Adult School for the next six weeks. I would like to get the basics down and learn pilates better.

I think that is basically what is going on with me. I hope to be able to put up some pics soon.

Am I crazy?

As was witnessed from my post about ice skating I can be a bit of a klutz. So what do I go and do? I signed up for a Ski Retreat for Crusade staff. What was I thinking? I have never been skiing before. I want to live after skiing. Look down a few posts at what happened during a couple hours of skating. Just think of the possibilities that can happen from a whole day of skiing. I have heard horror stories of people and lifts. I am going to hurl myself down the side of a mountain. I have heard that snow is soft, but come one?????!!!!!

Any advice? Am I a complete loon? how many people have come back with torn ACLs?

Ok, breathe Carrie. You will be ok. I still have a couple weeks until I go. No worries, I will be sure to post pics after the big weekend.

On another note, I think I look funny in this picture...what do you think?

The end of 2005

Well, it is 2006. I can’t believe a new year is here already. I had a great Christmas with family. I also got to spend a few days in Bakersfield and saw some friends I hadn’t seen in a while. There were good times hanging out and of course eating at Red Robin J I also got a few good games of Apples to Apples in.

On the 27th I headed with Cindy to Experience Jesus 05 (or Christmas Conference). After what took WAAYYYYY too long to get there the conference had begun. On the 28th about 700 students arrived. It really was an amazing conference. I did not make as many sessions as I would have liked to. This was my first conference as staff and I had to work.

The 30th is a special day. I made it so I didn’t have to work either of my conference jobs and got to sleep in a bit. After a Staff Interview and some connection times with students I went to dinner with friends. I will let the pictures do the talking:

A couple highlights from my birthday:
Getting the biggest heart shaped balloon with a butterfly on it (which I was suppose to carry with me all day)
Wearing a crown that said Happy Birthday in pink on it
The delicious chocolate brownie cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory
Being sung to WAYYY off tune by students and staff from Fresno
Being sung to about 10 times in total

New Years was also amazing. I will posts some pictures and more about that soon.
