Food For Thought
I read this in a Bible study and it really made me think.
“Busyness rapes relationships. It substitutes shallow frenzy for deep friendship. It promises satisfying dreams, but delivers hallow nightmares. It feeds the ego, but starves the inner man. It fills the calendar but fractures the family. It cultivates a program, but plows under priorities.”
Charles Swindoll- Killing Giants, Pulling Thorns
What a profound statement.
This also made me think.
“What if you were given the next three years to live? And what if you were told you not only had to accomplish your life’s work in those three years—but you had to change human history? Would you carry an observable sense of urgency? Keep a hectic pace?
Consider that Jesus lived under these conditions. He understood and accepted his destiny, and made it clear to His followers. But here’s the strange part: He never hurried anywhere. He always had time for people in His path. He found time to pray and be alone. He was calmer and more in control than you or me. His secret was the He understood His priorities.” From Knowing the Truth
I feel that mu busyness robs me from a lot and I need to put my priorities straight.
